Those of us who are still new in teaching often find ourselves unconsciously taking a teacher centered approach instead of the recommended learner centered approach. We often hear and read on the importance of focusing lessons that offer significant student involvement. When we take a learner centered approach we should provide motivational activities in which our students can learn from interaction with each other. I agree with you that sometimes we follow a teacher centered apporach. I see it at my campus all the time the teacher is at the smartboard or elmo and the students are taking notes. We need to find more activities that are student centered and gear our instruction to be student centered
